A2L Compliance
Ultravation has confirmed with UL the compliance for all in-duct air purification products with UL 60335-2-40 standard as it relates to new A2L refrigerants.
Why is UL 60335-2-40 required?
While new A2L refrigerants are mildly flammable. Under UL 60335-2-40, devices installed within HVAC air handling units must meet the electrical safety and flammability standards, ensuring safe operation with A2L gas.
UL 60335-2-40 sets critical safety requirements for manufacturers of electrical heat pumps, air-conditioners, dehumidifiers, etc. It focuses on the safe operation and energy efficiency of the whole HVAC system, particularly products utilizing refrigerants, making it important across the HVAC industry.
Ultravation® products installed per manufacturing specification and guidelines meet and or exceed the minimum recommended safety requirements as called out under UL 60335-2-40.
